MICRONEEDLING

Medical skin needling has been well-established at Epsom Skin Clinics for some time, delivering transformative, powerful results to our clients. As technology has advanced we’ve moved away from the traditional hand-held rollers and now use an electronic device called the FNS Pen for more accurate targeting of treatment and even better results.

FAQS ABOUT MICRONEEDLING

The FNS Pen makes thousands of microscopic punctures in your skin, turbo-charging the body’s natural repair and rejuvenation processes. As your skin regenerates, new collagen and skin cells are formed and blood supply is enhanced.

The needles in the FNS Pen are tiny and extremely fine, and to ensure the procedure isn’t painful we apply a topical anaesthetic to numb the skin prior to treatment. There might be some sensation, which some might describe as discomfort, but it shouldn’t be painful.

Although clients report looking fresher and more rested within a few days of treatment, it can take up to 6 weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are obvious. The process will continue over the following months due to increased levels of collagen and elastin in the skin, providing you with a natural and long-lasting enhancement.

We recommend a series of 3-6 treatments, 6 weeks apart. For the treatment of acne scars and other types of scarring it may be necessary to extend your treatment course.

Your clinician will advise a regime of carefully selected products to use at home to ensure the skin is protected following the treatment. SPF50 is applied immediately after the procedure and should be continued throughout your treatment course. It is recommended that makeup should not be applied for 12 hours after the procedure and to avoid any intense heat, including hot baths, showers, saunas, and steam rooms. We also recommend avoiding intensive exercise in the days following treatment.
