WHAT ARE ROSACEA AND FACIAL VEINS?

Rosacea is a skin condition characterised by redness in the affected areas of skin that often begins with prolonged blushing. In its most severe form it can show itself as acne-like breakouts, pustules, and inflammation, along with thickening of the skin. Facial thread veins are small, deep red or blue veins near the surface of the skin that can spread out in a web-like pattern. Both conditions can be sources of embarrassment and can undermine self-confidence in your appearance.

FACE

Rosacea most commonly affects the face, showing on the nose, cheeks, forehead, and chin. Thread veins are common on the skin of the face, especially around the nose.

NECK AND SHOULDERS

Though Rosacea most often affects the face, this form of unwanted redness can also affect the neck and shoulders.

FAQS ABOUT ROSACEA AND FACIAL VEINS

We target Laser and Intense Pulsed Light energy at the pigment in your blood, which heats up and collapses the unwanted veins. Your body naturally absorbs and eliminates the damaged veins, leaving your skin clear and unmarked. This treatment is effective in the reduction and elimination of unwanted facial veins. As part of our duty of care to our clients, a patch test will be required 24 hours before treatment.

The appearance of the targeted veins will either dramatically fade or completely disappear during the treatment.

Our advanced technologies minimise the redness and bruising normally associated with laser treatments. Some vessels might show temporary swelling that will subside after a few hours to a few days. If redness occurs, this will gradually fade during the healing process, which can take between 2 and 8 weeks.

The energy is delivered through a handheld device with a cooling tip that protects your skin, but to ensure your comfort when treating larger veins, we apply prescription topical anaesthetic cream 30 – 60 minutes before treatment.

Because of our advanced laser technology, we can treat people of any ethnic origin and skin type.

Though most patients see a significant improvement after just two treatments, some need only one and others require a third. For facial veins, the usual treatment interval is 2 – 4 weeks. A personal plan will be discussed during your consultation.
