Excess sweating can be an embarrassing condition that undermines self-esteem and confidence. One of the surprising but effective uses of anti-wrinkle injections, also known as Botox, is in the treatment of hyperhidrosis. Anti-wrinkle injections works by temporarily blocking the chemical signals which tell your glands to produce sweat.

Excessive sweating is most often seen in the underarm area, where unwanted dampness and a sour odour can undermine self-confidence.

Anti-wrinkle injections (Botox) are a surprisingly versatile treatment, effective in the treatment of excess sweating, teeth grinding (bruxism), and nasal flaring, along with their original use in treating wrinkles. To treat excess sweating, Botox blocks the signals which tell the glands to sweat, reducing levels of sweat to that of your average person, or perhaps slightly less.

About 25 anti-wrinkle injections are placed in each underarm area, taking approximately 15 minutes from start to finish. There’s no need for clinical downtime, and many of our clients continue with their day immediately after treatment.

By reducing moisture in the armpits, Botox for excessive sweating significantly reduces levels of the bacteria which cause underarm odour – an important change for those who need it, restoring confidence as a result.

  • Raise your arms with confidence
  • Reduce bodily odour
  • Improve your self-esteem.

As there are a good number of injections involved, the treatment is slightly more uncomfortable than other applications of Botox, but the injections are fast and shallow, causing little or no pain. If you are concerned about discomfort we can apply a topical numbing cream to the area prior to beginning treatment.

Anti-wrinkle injections for underarm sweating is highly effective, reducing sweating by over 80% for the majority of clients without affecting sensation in the treated area of skin.

Botox injections have been used safely across the world for decades. Advancements in medical research mean that they are now used to help with bruxism (teeth grinding), jaw clenching, and nasal flaring.

Botox is not advised for pregnant or nursing women, or for those with muscular or nerve-related conditions. If you have any concerns, we will discuss them with you during your in-depth consultation.

You should see a reduction in levels of sweating within 3-4 days, and the full effects of hyperhidrosis treatment after two weeks. Results last for at least 3 – 4 months, but some clients experience freedom from excessive sweating for 6 months to a year.
