Wart and Verruca Removal
Warts & Verrucas are very common amongst the UK population. They are skin growths that appear on the skin and are usually completely harmless. Warts & Verrucae are caused by a virus called Human Papilloma (HPV). When you contract the virus on your hands and face, a small “cauliflower” like growth appears which we all commonly known as a wart. When the virus breaks out on the sole of your foot, the pressure on the sole of your foot from daily activities does not allow the virus to grow outwards so gets pushed back into the skin becoming a verruca.
How does it work?
There are multiple benefits of Laser Wart & Verruca removal. If your warts have not responded to standard therapies, there is a good chance they may be cleared with this therapy.
Laser treatments are in them self a quick treatment and moderately painless. Research has shown that the laser also kills the human papilloma virus (HPV) virus whereas typical treatments of chemical therapy and cryotherapy destroy the Wart or Verruca but leave traces of the virus behind.
What results can I expect?
You will see a result after your first treatment but you will need a minimum of at least 2 treatments to completely eliminate the Wart or Verruca.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of wart or verruca removal treatments required depends on the size and location or the wart or verruca. Larger and deeply rooted verrucas may require several verruca removal treatments. A personal plan will be discussed in your consultation.
This treatment requires a patch test to be performed 24hours before the treatment. This is an essential part of our duty of care to protect you and your skin.
