FINDING A CLINIC YOU CAN TRUST

Over the last few years, demand for anti wrinkle injections and dermal fillers has increased at an unprecedented level. With celebrity and influencer endorsements, we have never been more excited about looking for treatments to help perfect our appearance.

Getting the right treatment from a certified clinic can be a wonderful, life changing experience but demand has led to a worrying trend which could leave you vulnerable to a whole host of bad practices. From inexperienced and non accredited therapists administering facial injections to pop up clinics using unofficial products with little to no aftercare plan in place, if you are considering a treatment, it has never been so important to make sure you do your research..
To make sure you get the experience and results you deserve, we have put together a guide of our top five tips to finding a clinic you can trust.

Tip 1: Staff Accreditation

Anyone performing a treatment on your skin should be trained to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, they should also hold a manufacturer’s certificate from the product or brand you are being treated with as alot of clinics chose to train in house which means they do not have the latest manufacturer approved training.

To carry out Botox or fillers your injector must hold as a minimum either a NMC or GMC. these are councils which regulate nurses and Doctors in the UK. For Botox your injector must hold a prescribers licence as they will have to prescribe and administer Botox.

Tip 2 : Experience

Just as important as accreditation is experience, nothing says more about a clinic than the experiences of the clients that have walked in and out of their doors so check their social channels to see what people are saying about their results, if you can’t find anything it is probably a sign to look for somewhere else.

Another thing to look out for is how long the clinic has been trading, if they have just appeared in the last couple of years it might be best looking for a better established clinic who are more likely to have built a reliable reputation.

Tip 3: Product Selection

There have been high profile cases of injectors using ‘unknown and extremely dangerous substances’ which have caused devastating injuries. Make sure you ask exactly what products are used on your skin and do a quick search to make sure these are trusted products. Request to see the vial that will be used for the treatment, all vials should have a batch number which you should see marked on the vial itself. With dermal fillers ensure the vial is unopened and has not been tampered with.

Tip 4: Consultation

The consultation is the most important stage of any treatment as it forms the basis for selecting the right products for you and your skin. Our consultations follow a seven step approach including, medical history, skin analysis, product assessment and treatment planning. Any clinic not offering a full consultation before your treatment should be avoided as they will not have the information they need to know if you are a good candidate for your desired treatment

.

Tip 5: Aftercare policy

Before committing to a treatment you need to make sure the practitioners have an aftercare policy in place to protect you if anything should go wrong. You should look for a clinic where the Doctors work exclusively as it means they are committed to the treatment and aftercare of their clients. It is also worth asking if the Doctors are local to the area so if you need a follow up they are easily reached and contactable.
