Enhanced skin rejuvenation is a revolutionary skin treatment using multiple laser wavelengths to eliminate and reduce pigmentation, broken capillaries, wrinkles and improve facial toning. It is most often performed on the face and neck, but the décolletage, hands and arms can be treated as well. Enhanced skin rejuvenation is ideal for eliminating a variety of problems including:
- Broken Capillaries
- Large Pores
- Pigmentation Variances
- Spider Veins
- Age Spots/sun Spots
How does it work?
Laser light is absorbed by pigmented areas where it is converted to heat causing a breakup in the pigment. In broken capillaries and spider veins the laser energy is absorbed by the pigment in the blood and collapses the unwanted vein. For wrinkles and skin toning the laser stimulates collagen re-growth. This treatment takes approximately 30 - 60 minutes. We will analyse your skin condition and help you select the most effective treatment for you.
What results can I expect?
After the first treatment you will see improvements to broken capillaries, small facial veins and some pigmented areas within a few days. Other improvements such as wrinkle reduction and toning will be more subtle and may take one to three months. With each subsequent treatment, subtle changes will accumulate until you have achieved the improvement you desire.
How many treatments will I need?
A series of three to six treatments spaced two to four weeks apart is our standard recommendation. Occasionally, more treatments may be needed for certain individuals or conditions. Periodic occasional maintenance treatments may be prescribed for more desirable lasting results. A personal plan will be discussed in your consultation.
What can be expected immediately post skin rejuvenation?
Immediately following the procedure you may experience some redness, swelling and/or a slight darkening of pigmented areas. The redness and swelling usually dissipate within one to three days however darkened pigmentation may persist and peel lightly for up to one week. Makeup can be applied to the treated area immediately, if necessary. Additionally, hair growth may be impaired in the treated area, although it is not the intended purpose of this particular treatment. It is extremely important to apply a moisturiser with at least a SPF25 sun block and avoid sun exposure on a daily basis to prevent additional sun damage.
This treatment requires a patch test to be performed 24hours before the treatment. This is an essential part of our duty of care to protect you and your skin.
