Laser Fungal Nail
This revolutionary laser treatment can eliminate fungal nail infections (Onychomycosis) quickly and safely. Fungal nail infections are very common amongst the UK population affecting 1 in 10 people. Men are affected more than women and there is a significantly greater risk of contracting Onychomycosis as you get older. This disease can also lead to more serious complications for Diabetics. Fungal nail infections are usually caused by damage made to the nail plate or seal allowing the fungus to invade the nail. Feet stuck inside shoes all day provide the perfect habitat of warm and dampness that allow the fungus to thrive. Other factors can also include nail biting, foot trauma, smoking and diabetes.
How does the treatment work?
Our Fotona SP-Dynamis machine is the most powerful and versatile laser system in surgery. The Fotona SP-Dynamis gently heats the infected nail evenly throughout its depth causing weakening and killing of the fungus. Laser fungal nail infection treatment provides complete fungal elimination without the use of chemicals and oral medication whilst being completely safe and virtually pain free. The treatment is tolerable with minimal discomfort and a mild to low sensation in the nail bed. There is no post treatment discomfort.
What results can I expect?
Results can be seen in a matter of months and complete fungal elimination can be achieved. Clear nails will generally start to be visible 3-6 months after treatment. A complete nail growth cycle usually takes 9-10 months to complete. Future growth cycles will show even healthier, clearer nails, growing free of fungal infection.
How many treatments will I need?
Our prices include 4 laser treatments. For best results, this treatment should be scheduled for 1 week apart. Occasionally a second course may be needed for complete eradication of the fungus. A personal treatment plan will be discussed in your consultation.
This treatment requires a patch test to be performed 24hours before the treatment. This is an essential part of our duty of care to protect you and your skin.
