Laser Liposuction is an innovative concept in laser assisted liposculpture, which targets small pockets of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise.
It is a minor procedure for body contouring which uses a fine cannula to deliver a safe, powerful laser to disrupt the fat cells causing them to break down.
The fat deposits can then be removed
using light suction. The treatment is
performed under local anaesthetic
and is permanent and safe.
How does Laser liposuction work? A 2mm cannula containing a laser
fibre optic is inserted under the skin.
Our doctor slowly guides the laser
through the treatment area.
The fat cells are melted and broken
down and then removed from the
body using light suction. Unlike
liposuction the majority of healthy
cells are left intact as the laser only
destroys fat cells. After liposuction
it is common for the skin over the
treated area to be loose and saggy.
However, laser assisted liposuction
is specifically designed to tighten the
under lying layers of skin from the
inside giving a smoother, firmer result.
The 2mm cannula used during the procedure is very fine and therefore scarring
is minimal and recovery time is significantly reduced. As Laser Liposuction is
conducted under local anaesthetic, clients are able to leave the clinic within 30
minutes of the end of the procedure. One compression garment is supplied and it is
recommended that it is worn for up to 2 weeks.
Is laser liposuction safe?
Yes, the laser only targets the fat cells and also coagulates the blood vessels to reduce blood loss and bruising normally associated with traditional liposuction.
What areas can be treated with laser liposuction?
Areas that can be treated include: tummy, back, jaw line/ jowl (double chin), backs of arms (bingo wings), hips, knees and gynaecomastia (man breasts).
How long does the laser liposuction procedure take?
Depending on the number of areas the treatment takes between 1 and 3 hours.
When will I see results from the laser liposuction procedure? Results are visible in only 2 weeks. Further reduction can continue up to six months after treatment.
